Modern Day Slavery [Near & Far]

  • First United Methodist Church of Carrollton 2201 E Hebron Pkwy Carrollton, TX, 75010 United States

First United Methodist Church Carrollton will host a speaking conference called Modern Day Slavery: Near and Far in an effort to inform and unite our local community on the issue of human trafficking. Join us on Saturday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to noon and hear from speakers, authors, and activists on ways each of us can become a part of this movement to bring a message of hope.

Hear from Marquita Burke-De Jesus, a local activist, author of Radically Ordinary, and founder of Silence the Violence, a campaign to end human trafficking and child abuse; Colette Copeland Williams of Traffick911, a team of passionate people driven to free American youth from sex trafficking through prevention, rescue, and restoration; and Denise Beckman, a volunteer with Extreme Response, a humanitarian aid organization committed to changing the lives of people living in extreme, often life-threatening, situations. Learn about this growing problem and hear practical ways you can get involved and make a difference today.
