A New Chapter Begins at Traffick911
Friends,
We’re writing today with heartfelt gratitude for a new chapter for Traffick911.
After nearly 15 years of dedicated service, Lindsey Speed has announced that she will be stepping down as Executive Director and CEO of Traffick911 at the end of August 2025. Lindsey has been instrumental in shaping the organization as it is today, most notably by leading the creation of our Voice & Choice Program, advocating fiercely for survivors, and cultivating a team and mission that stand on integrity, compassion, and purpose.
“The heartbeat of this organization has never changed: every child deserves to live free. As I prepare to pass the baton, I believe with all my heart that Traffick911’s greatest impact is still ahead.”
— Lindsey Speed, Executive Director
Lindsey will continue to champion the mission as an Advisory Board Member and step into a new season of service, including global mission work in West Africa.
We are also thrilled to share that after a nationwide search, the Board of Directors has unanimously selected Leah Albright-Byrd as Traffick911’s next CEO. Leah is a nationally respected nonprofit leader, systems reformer, and survivor-advocate who brings both lived experience and a deep commitment to trauma-informed, justice-centered work.
“Leah is a rare and remarkable leader. She brings deep empathy, authenticity, and strategic vision to this role—and we are confident she will carry our mission forward with strength and soul.”
— Amber Kinney, Board Chair
Leah has spent the past 20 years leading change across the nonprofit and anti-trafficking sectors and will officially step into her role on June 30, 2025.
“I’ve seen what’s possible when a young person is met with empathy instead of judgment. That’s what Traffick911 has stood for—and I’m honored to build on that legacy. I’m not just here to lead—I’m here to listen, to serve, and to walk this mission forward with you.”
— Leah Albright-Byrd, Incoming CEO
We’re deeply grateful to each of you—our community of supporters, partners, and friends—who make this work possible. Your faithful support is the fuel behind every life changed. Together, we’ll keep moving forward, with hope in our hearts and freedom as our goal.
Stay tuned—you’ll be hearing more from Leah in the days ahead!
With gratitude,
The Traffick911 Board of Directors
